SMAG Art Limited Donates £1,750 to Support GWN’s Vital Wildlife Rescue Efforts

We were thrilled to welcome representatives Chris and Catherine from SMAG Art Blackheath to our Mini Wildlife Rehab Unit today, where they presented our volunteers Bonnie and Karine with a remarkable donation of £1,750 to support the work of Greenwich Wildlife Network.

SMAG Art is a collective of talented local artists who use proceeds from art commissions and their twice-yearly exhibitions to support worthy causes within the community. This generous donation is just one of several SMAG has made to GWN over the past two years, contributing to the £43,000 they have raised for local causes.

We are truly honoured to be among the beneficiaries of their incredible work and encourage everyone to support this fantastic charitable venture. You can show your appreciation for the arts and their community impact by attending SMAG’s next exhibition at St. Michael’s and All Angels Church in May 2025. For more information, visit www.smagart.com.

With our total number of rescues more than doubling in 2024 - as of October we had helped over 2000 injured, orphaned, unwanted and unwell animals - our expenses have skyrocketed too. Generous donations like this provide a much-needed safety net for unexpected vet bills and emergencies while helping us plan for vital projects, such as building aviaries and expanding our premises (more exciting updates on that coming soon!).

A heartfelt thank you to SMAG Art for their unwavering support and commitment to both the arts and our community. Your contributions make a real difference to our work and the wildlife and local people that we serve.
